What are fascia?
Fascia is part of our musculature and connective tissue. They extend over the whole body and hold everything together. Certain cells in the fascia, such as the fibroblasts, produce vast amounts of various substances. These include mainly elastin and collagen.
Collagen is a special form of protein that can combine fibers and strands with high tensile strength.
The elastin can be understood as some extent as the opposite. Elastin allows loose fibers made by the fibroblast to stretch more than twice their length. These fibers can be found, for example, between organs and muscles, where they serve as a lubricant and adhesive. When they become supple and elastic, we can better perceive our bodies and become more agile and capable.
