1. The courses
Registration can take place at any time, but without guarantee of a suitable course for the applicant. The students are enrolled in a course level according to his / her wishes / assessment.Students can ask for a course level upgrade or downgrade at any time. Salsa People reserves the right to downgrade the students to an easier course level if the circumstances so require (difficulties of the student, normal course speed disrupted, etc.)
► Signing off
The cancellation must be submitted in writing through the app, no later than two weeks before the course subscription expires, 2 weeks before the next course starts.If the cancellation deadline is not met or the cancellation is not submitted in writing, participation in the course will automatically continue and the course fee must be paid.Failure to pay the course fee does not mean that you have canceled your registration.
► Course fees
The course fee must be paid on the first day of the course.All subsequent courses must be prepaid in the penultimate lesson of the previous course. If the course in the first lesson has still not been paid, the teacher may allow himself / herself to suspend this person. Unless otherwise stated, all prices are per person (including VAT). A processing fee of CHF 20.00 will be charged for the invoice.
► Course duration
The course duration is usually 8 lessons of 105 minutes each in the pair dance and 45 minutes each in the solo courses. We reserve the right to make changes.
► Course design
Course starts, course design, course content, course rooms, etc. are determined by Salsa People. Salsa People reserve the right to make changes.
► Course cancellation
The course participants will be informed in good time about the cancellation of the course on public holidays. Extraordinary course cancellations are reserved for Salsa People. These extraordinary course cancellations will be made up for.
► Missed course lessons
Students are not entitled to a repetition if they were unable to attend the course. The dance teacher tries to process the missed learning material.The course fee for lessons not attended will not be reimbursed.
► Annual fee
The CHF 40.00 is made up of SWSC certification, annual fees from the dance school and videos.This is a service that is provided by Salsa People and must therefore be honored.The annual fee is also taken into account here.This includes all additional services that Salsa People offers such as course organization, e-mail traffic and others Administrative work that is not integrated into the course fees.
The pairs are determined in the first course. After that it is up to the students to coordinate. If someone does come alone, we try to integrate them into the course as well as possible.Students must cancel their registration by email or via the app (in writing) by 12 noon on the day of the course at the latest, otherwise a fee of CHF 40 will be charged. Oral communications are void.
Course fees are generally not refundable.If a course offer is canceled, the students receive a credit note. In the event of illness and only upon presentation of a doctor's certificate, the students will receive a pro-rata (aliquot) - from the day of the doctor's confirmation - on a later course offer.Vacations, business trips, business obstacles, etc. are non-refundable. Money back guarantee if you fail to master the basic steps within 8 weeks. Prerequisite: the course must be attended in the paid period.
4. Dance partner / Referral
► Assignment of dance partners
The course registration is also possible without a dance partner. Salsa People tries to provide a dance partner. The dance partners are randomly assigned or the students without a dance partner form dance pairs themselves at the start of the course.Salsa People cannot be held responsible for an extraordinary course cancellation (no-show, accident, illness, etc.) by a dance partner.The first dance partner is provided free of charge.
► New dance partner
If the students cancel their previous dance partner, we charge a fee of CHF 20 per course for the allocation of a new dance partner, unless he / she organizes a replacement for himself / herself.
For each person referred, the mediator receives a credit (on his / her course) of CHF 20.- for solo courses and CHF 40.- for couple dance courses. However, this only happens if the person referred has paid the course fee.The dance partner is not considered a mediated person.
5. Disclaimer of liability
We exclude any legally permissible liability for all courses and events organized by Salsa People. Use of the dance school's facilities and equipment is at your own risk. Salsa People accept no liability for damage resulting from an accident, injury, etc. Salsa People is not liable for the loss of effects,valuables, money, clothes etc..
6. Exclusion from the course
Salsa People reserves the right, in serious cases (defamation, violence, personal injury, damage to property, sexual harassment, failure to pay the course fee, etc.) to exclude the students from the courses immediately without reimbursement of the course fee.
7. Privacy / data protection
Photographs and video recordings during a class or on other occasions are only permitted with the express permission of the dance instructor. Photos and film recordings made by us are expressly released for publication by entering our premises in relation to the dance school. The data of the students and teachers will be treated confidentially and will not be passed on to third parties.
8. Course and price changes
We reserve the right to change rates and prices as well as changes to the General Terms and Conditions.
9. Force majeure
In the case of course cancellations / events through no fault of their own (e.g. federal decree, pandemic / epidemic), the participant cannot make any claims for damages against the organizer / dance school and cannot request additional opening times or request replacement lessons. Due to the limited number of seats, the member also has to accept any waiting times. In the event of or after an event caused by force majeure such as hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, epidemics / pandemics, wars and political unrest (the list is not exhaustive), the responsibility rests with each student to comply with the specified measures and / or federal regulations in order to ensure that the current ones are complied with not to endanger the situation.
10. Discrimination in chats
Privately created chats with more or equal to 10 people with customers of Salsa People are prohibited. A chat is quickly created and only certain selected people are invited. That is discriminatory and does not fit into a dance school. This is about socialization and harmony. Especially when unauthorized events or advertising of this kind that have not been authorized are shared. We have our own chats that can be used. Reductions in benefits or, in the event of gross violations, compensation payments can be asserted as sanctions at the discretion of Salsa People.
11. Communication channel / Salsa World Standard Class APP
In general, communication takes place via the Salsa World Standard Class app. For example about events, campaigns, competitions, course administration, news, etc. (list is not exhaustive). In the event that the Salsa World Standard App cannot be used or does not want to be used, a processing fee of CHF 20 will be charged per 4-week subscription.
By signing the registration and / or online registration (registration form or internet registration), these terms and conditions are expressly acknowledged and accepted. The general terms and conditions are an integral part of the contract for every offer.
13. Place of jurisdiction
Swiss law is applicable to all legal relationships with Salsa People. The place of jurisdiction is Zurich.
14. Vouchers & private lessons
Vouchers and private lessons expire after 1 year.
